Students for Palestine (Southampton) is a non-profit society at the University of Southampton with members and activists, from different countries across the globe, who have come together in belief of one cause: justice. We stand against all forms of racism and discrimination, and welcome people from all backgrounds and beliefs.
We are committed to raising awareness of the Palestinian issue and supporting Palestinians in their struggle for self-determination and justice (you can read more about the conflict here). This initiative is part of the anti Apartheid UK Student Movement for Palestine.
Our first and foremost objective is to reach out to as many people as possible, particularly students, in order to help the public better understand the situation in Palestine and the struggle of the Palestinians. We believe in the political and social difference that students are able to effect on ground and we invite all activists to join the non-violent campaign of Boycott, Divestments and Sanctions. BDS is a means of public pressure that seeks to ensure the enforcement of international law and human rights.
We aim to:
- Promote Palestinian history, culture and heritage;
- Campaign for Palestinian rights to life and dignity, justice, self-determination, and equality;
- Advocate for the observance of International Law and Human Rights.
